Well I thought that this would be a grand incentive to try and make me get through my ever increasing stash of yarn - although I have hardly any stashed compared with the continents of yarn that many have. But, there is a surprising amount once I stacked it all up so I thought that I shall make a list every Monday of the things that I have knitted over the week I'll add pictures too if I remember.
So first up is my bus project for the week - a pair of Jaywalkers - designed by the talented Grumperina. These seem very popular and I like the zig zagginess of the pattern and had some self stripping wool to get rid of. I am magic looping these and they are my first sock done by this method. Usually I'm a dpns kind of a girl but saw this on an online vid (scroll down a bit, it's under small diameter circular knitting) and thought I'd give it a go. Now I see how easy it is, I think this is my preferred method of working in the round. Which does mean that I'm going to have to get myself a complete set of Addis - life is so hard.
I'm also in the porcess of finishing off an Embrace bag by Sarah Hutton from Rowan Felted Collection. I knitted one for a swap partner a couple of weeks back from Twilleys Freedom Spirit wool and really liked the style of it but wondered if I could knit it in the round - so I did. This one is for a friend's birthday (which it will be late for) and instead of the recommended Kid Classic I've again gone for Freedom Spirit in a lovely green and purple colourway. I have reached that ggrrrhh moment though, as I do not have quite enough to finish off the handles so will have to buy another ball just to finish off but I can then use the rest to make felted purses and other small bits.
There is also my on going evening jumper - Topsecret from Knitty that's getting sorted. Only have the yoke to knit and the finishing off so hopefully that should be another one knocked on the head.
